Free stove Survey

Stoves are a valuable source of heat giving anything from 1kw to 15kw heat output. The best way to measure this heat output is against an average radiator of 1200mm wide by 600mm high, these produce on average about 1kw of heat. The size and dimensions vary between stoves and it is best to contact us for a free survey and free advice.

The Survey

This will consist of:-

Chimney inspection and measurement
Measurement of the builders opening (fireplace)
Measurement of the constructional hearth
Inspection of the lintel
Were the stove will be sited if a free standing stove
Advise on the type of stoves available to match your requirements

With technology and up to date designs, stove manufactures are producing a large range of stoves from the traditional to extremely modern which can be placed any were in your home.

These can consist of a built in stove called a cassette stove (see pic), this normally is placed within a chimney fireplace opening but some can be used with a manufactured chimney so therefore can be placed on any external wall.

Standard stoves are normally placed within a fireplace using the standard chimney but again if the right stove is used with heat shields, this can be placed on a external wall with a manufactured external chimney.

Modern stoves which have heat shields can be placed nearly any were in a room. These have heat shields that reduce the distance from any flammable material. The normal stove has to have 600mm from wood, plasterboard etc. The free standing modern stoves have built in heat shields so this gap can be reduced considerable.
